Inspiring you to create a home that you never want to leave

Happy 2023! I know I am a few months late…I have not written a blog post in a while because truthfully, I was having difficulty coming up with something to write. I found myself struggling to write good and helpful content. I was struggling with “imposter syndrome.” So instead of trying to come up with perfect content, I am going to share my own thoughts and opinions! Isn’t that what a blog is after all?

For those that are new here, I am a Nurse Practitioner who stepped away from the medical field in 2021. I have no regrets in doing so. I was no longer passionate about my job and truth be told, it was weighing me down. I am blessed with the ability to take a step back and reevaluate my goals. I have a creative side that was dormant for far too long. When we first moved into our home, decorating was a chore. I did not enjoy it because I was so busy managing everything else, including my healthcare career. Once I started taking more time to enjoy the process, something clicked. I started to have fun! The ideas and plans I had for my home started to flood my brain. I was also overwhelmed with all of my ideas and not knowing where to start. Thankfully my husband is on board with most of my DIY project ideas and we already have done some pretty amazing projects throughout our home.

Piece by piece and room by room, we have turned our “builder grade” home into our dream home. I want others to know that it is achievable! Sometimes it just comes down to choosing the right decor pieces to fill a space. My hope is to inspire you to create a home you never want to leave. When I came up with the name “A Piece of My Haven” the meaning behind it was that I was sharing a piece of my home with you. Your home should be your haven, your safe place, a place you go to for comfort. So whether you are struggling with how to decorate your home, or if you just need a little help making your home reflect your own personal style, I am here for it all!
